BPOS: Setting up MX Record for Exchange Online
One of the things you need to do in order to use Exchange Online Services is the setup of an MX Record. This is necessary in order to receive e-mails.
In order to specify an MX-Record you'll need a Domain name. Through the DNS settings you (or your provider) can set the DNS settings. Before this can be done you'll need to verify ownership of the domain.
An MX Record typically needs the following settings:
The host is your domain name
The TTL specifies the Time to Life. A common setting for TTL is 86400, which is 24 hours. A TTL value of 86400 would mean that if a DNS record was changed, DNS servers around the world could still be showing the old value from their cache for up to 24 hours after the change.
The Priority specifies in which order the mailservers should be queried. A normal value for priority is 10. When other (for instance backup) mailservers are present you could give them the priority 20, 30 etc. Only one mailserver is used in BPOS. The normal setting is mail.global.frontbridge.com, but be sure to check this.
In the comment field you can specify which service is used. Normally we specify BPOS.
